Heh. In honor of Shigure's book, "We can't go back to that summer, but we can always remember...A naughty love story unfolds", I'm renaming the NNoD. From now on it will be: "I can't take back that I killed you, twice, but at least we can fuck...A violent war story unfolds." Except that it will totally still be the NNoD, because typing all of that would be a pain. ;)
So right now the Mustang/Havoc is actually kind of romantic, in this angsty Roy sort of way, and I like it. I was going to post a poll asking if I should add porn to it, but I feel that would be the dumbest question EVER. Especially knowing you lot. So we'll see where it goes. :p
Challenge: 1B – The Arch-nemesis
Title: The First
Author: katilara
Series/Characters: Death Note, Raito/L (I LIKE calling him Raito. :p)
Rating: PG13 (Raito is a bastaaaard *sings*)
Word Count: 207
Spoilers: Spoiler concerning L. If you haven't read Volume 7 you may want to refrain.
I was his first.
He told me around a mouthful of cake that I was his first real friend. His eyes spoke in silence and said that I had given him his first real kiss. Matsuda slipped up and said that Kira was his first real challenge. That I was his first challenge.
But it went the other way around as well. He was the first person that challenged my intellect. He was the first man I ever let do those things to me. He was my first true enemy.
For that time we understood each other. Hate and obsession bordered on love and no one knew L like I did. No one will ever know me the way he did. He used to lay heavy in my arms that are now empty and light. I hold the darkness close to me and shiver as I remember cold, sugared saliva traced from my collar bone down.
A line of ice works its way through me to mirror the path he used to take on the outside. It comforts me when I am alone. I’ll never let him go, because I won and by right I own him. I was his first, but I was also his last.
...
I love Ben Nichols' voice much more than I should. He divulged at the show that he has a duplex on Amelia Street. And considering the likelyhood that he's the kind of man who smokes outside shirtless Jess was all for going to check it out. :p Alas, we went to the meeting instead. That's dedication. Hehe.
Lucero - When You're Gone
Right! Back to the Havoc love before I pass out.
ETA- According to the History Channel, today is truly a glorious day. Today in 1935 is the day the first canned beer went on sale. I feel like this should be a bigger holiday than talk like a pirate day! There need to be first beer day cards. Hmmm...
ETA 2- So, so, so shouldn't have read both of
sutlers' Mustang/Hughes at lunch. I kind of want to cry now. Fuck.

Date: 2007-01-25 05:23 pm (UTC)Yep, the Portland library system is pretty good. I can even get some from Vancouver, which is where I live, but Portland has more. Definately check out your library, you never know.

Date: 2007-01-25 08:50 pm (UTC)I finished reading teh manga, now I'm having a try and understand the anime without any subtitles... and you do know how to... borrow an entire universe from an author and make a different story/plot/pairing that could fit the canon. You're so talented!
What if you started drawing one day? ;)

Date: 2007-01-25 08:56 pm (UTC)Good luck with the Japanese. I really should start doing that with French. You know, I think my version of Cowboy Bebop has a French track. *rubs hands together evily*
What would happen if I started drawing? The value of art in the world would go down collectively. :p I doodle, but they're terrible. Well, sometimes they're good, but I'm arse at people. I would like to learn though. Would be easier to do graphic novels that way. :p Hmm...

Date: 2007-01-25 09:04 pm (UTC)I need to read it then - if you did write it...:)
I guess I won't have many difficulties to understand the DN anime thanks to the comic strip, still it was quite hard to get everything even in English. I wish the manga were released in France one day...
You do draw? or doodle? Show me! please! I love watching other people's drawings!
Would be easier to do graphic novels that way.
That could be an intersting thing to do. Whta do I need to help you out in this project again? oh yes. TIME. *pouts* *not happy*

Date: 2007-01-25 09:13 pm (UTC)I'm sure if you got Kaori Yuki manga they'll release Death Note eventually. It seems to be much more mainstream.
Haaaa...I can see if I can find a place to scan some in. You'll be the first to know if I do. :p It will not be good though. Hehe.
It would be an interesting thing to do! I need to get all of the NNoD ironed out first though, so I have the basic story, before I start trying to do things like take up drawing for that purpose. Hehe.
Time is for suckers. Seriously. :p
