Disclaimer: I asked my flist what people should know about me before they get too close and this is what they came up with. This is actually a pretty accurate representation, for better or worse.

1. Some Boring Things To Start
Facts about KL that are almost incidental compared to everything else that follows: I am 28 years old. I'm the Book Drive Coordinator for the Orlando Nanowrimo group. I work for a textbook publisher doing things that AREN'T editing, which is something that eats me up inside. I love live music played loudly in dive bars. I'm making plans to move to Portland in 2012. I want to get a Masters degree in Library Science. I have a boyfriend. I'm currently working on two writing projects: a steampunk type novel I'm researching and writing with a friend and a scifi novel. I'm learning to play the guitar. My car, phone, iPod, and laptop are all named after anime characters. Unlike the Doctor I am most definitely rude AND ginger!

2. I'm Interesting
Though, usually when people say that there's a pause between the two words, and they make a face kind of like this.

There's an alternate version of that photo, because my flist realized that the look would be more effective if you could actually make out my eyebrows. You can see that version here. But really, I'm one of Those People. It almost doesn't matter where I am. I make inappropriate comments and laugh too loudly and altogether just enjoy myself much more than people have deemed Appropriate. I would apologize, but I fear it would come off as rather insincere.

3. I Have Ambitions
I have lots of things I want to do in my life. Most of these things clash pretty soundly with each other, so I figure I'll just divide my life up into five year chunks and tackle them one at a time.
  • Thing the first: I want to start a band called Batmobile Beep Beep. It would be a ska(ish) band that wrote songs about the Batfamily. No, I can't sing. Yes, it will be amazing.
  • Thing the second: I want to work as a curator/head of research for a museum, gallery, or private collection. Hence the whole Getting a Degree in Library Sciences thing.
  • Thing the third: I want to own a bar/bookstore. This heralds back to college when I would spend a lot of time in dive bars drinking and discussing philosophy and art history. How great would it be to do that in a place WITH BOOKS?
  • Thing the fourth: I want to write a best selling novel.

4. I Love Dick
Dick Grayson is my favorite, okay? Along with Gerard Way. And Max Bemis. And Castiel. And Gren. And Nicholas D. Wolfwood. And ALL CROWLEYS. I started re-reading comics again (after a long time gone) a few years ago, starting back in on Bat stories with Battle for the Cowl. I was reminded about how much I really, truly enjoy Dick's character. I also really enjoy that they're keeping him on as Batman. I was so excited about it I made this t-shirt. Of course, I also really love Kate Kane. But I want to BE Kate when I grow up. I just have dirty, very wrong thoughts about Dick. (Okay, to be fair, I have dirty, very wrong thoughts about Kate as well.)

5. I'm Easy
I prefer to think of myself as enthusiastic! I just like things. And I'm very ADD (diagnosed and everything) so it's a lot of things. And a lot of people. I have a lot of love to go around. I share it freely. Also, I'm a total whore for hugs. Would you like one?

6. I'm Ridiculous (In All the Best Ways)
That means pretty much what you think it means. Also, I'm outside your window right now, shaking your bushes. I WAS HIDING UNDER YOUR PORCH BECAUSE I LOVE YOU.

Hello there! How have you enjoyed it so far? I know several people who liked it, and one who hated the work in school but loves her job now.

And good luck to you as well.

I like the work I've been doing outside of class- internships and the like, but most of the work in class just seems like annoying busywork to me. I've tolerated it well and I don't really mind since it's just a two year degree, but there have only been a small handful of classes I've found really relevant.

hmmm, can I consider that to also be your answer to the very important question or "cats or dogs?"..?

SPOILERS! ;)

I like all these things. They are things I look for in friends. Friends who are clearly as...interesting...*pause*...as me.

CAN WE BE FRIENDS?

(My introduction would obviously also include "is a giant weird spazz.)

That's pretty much what my friend said. She mentioned the busy work and everything. It's just annoying because I already have most of those skills (I could definitely use some brushing up on building databases), but you can't get those jobs without a degree.

I think that's probably how the universe works, though. HERE ARE SOME HOOPS. PLEASE TO BE JUMPING THROUGH THEM.

The answer to that question is always dogs. I don't trust cats. Which is just fine since cats don't seem to trust me. We respect each other and keep our distances.

I AM EL, KAY EL. *sinister gaze* (When you type it like that it looks like I'm related to Superman. Fun fact! Superman's mom is a librarian called Lara. THE MORE YOU KNOW.)

That's pretty convenient, because you are DEFINITELY my favorite Margaret. *smishes*

YES. Now we just need someone who plays sax! I mean, I play sax (probably better than I play guitar, actually), but I don't own one and haven't practiced in years. SO. WE WILL BE NEEDING A THIRD. (And possibly a fourth. A trumpet would be nice.)

OH GOOD, ME TOO! My favorite local guy has a trumpet player and at one of the shows someone was asking why he was even there. I almost asked him what his malfunction was. It is not ours to wonder why there are random horns, okay? It is but ours to rock the fuck out.

I LIKE THE WAY YOU THINK. In ALL of my "Matthew is in a band" fantasies (of which there are quite a few) there is a kickass horn section!

I'll certainly take a flute, but we'd still need a sax. You know what we also need? A ZITHER.

Reeds aren't that hard. You just have to blow harder. *cough* I learned at an early age, okay?
