Hmmm, I could take the easy way out and say that it's because Akito is evil AND capricious, but where's the fun in that?
Well, Kyo is different because he's the cat (which gets explained) and Yuki is different because his parents basically gave him to Akito as kind of a...plaything, really; something to torment, whatever, and Akito is very possessive. As for the Mabudachi trio, I think the fact that they're older than Akito plays into it (very) slightly (with another, juicier reason for Shigure -- oooh, you're gonna freak about that reason!), but mostly I think Hatori is a doctor because Akito knew the Jyuunishi (I don't know how to spell it either =_=) would need a doctor who knew about the curse, Aya...doesn't seem to interest Akito very much, and Shigure...well, you'll see. **evil grin** So yeah, it's 'cause Akito is capricious and evil.
