I'm calling this one Built Upon. I usually write (or steal from other projects I'm working on) a few lines to go with each of these, to give them atmosphere or context, but I don't have any words for this one. The whole world is the context at this point. The number of times in the last several months that I've cried while brushing my teeth in the morning is ridiculous. Democracy, sure.

Have you considered setting up an etsy shop to sell prints of your collages?

Not really. A few people have asked me about selling them, but I'm not sure how to process the images to make them print ready or if I even have the technology to do so. And of course, there's the rights issue. I do think that collage as a craft is generally accepted as transformative and there have been recent cases where more identifiable whole photographic works were used by people and still found to be transformative enough to be covered under law. I'd want to do some deeper research, though.

Man, and I guess I'd have to look into print shops and how that process even works? Do most people do it local and send them out by hand? Would something like Society 6 be a better way to go? I like the idea of Society 6 because then someone else is automating that mess.

I know nothing about the rights side of things.

Maybe not etsy, but somewhere you can just load the high-res images and then sell prints from there, yeah. Mostly I was noting how many people are excited by your collages and how good they are and thought, "Oh, KL could sell these." (And honestly I want a print of the one with the robot in the last post, so this is also entirely selfish.)

Another stray thought I had was an anthology in which writers use your collages as inspiration, and again, I was thinking about how pretty that book would look. :D

Some folks have asked me and I just don't even know where to start! But I think I know enough fan artists now that I can ask about places like Society 6 and get some good feedback on process and all.

Also, noted! I should be able to figure out one at least. I would just send you the original, but it's very small and also probably parts would fall off.

One of my goals this year was to try to pull together a BOYSGIRLS type book with a little poem or bit of pretty prose for each collage I've done. Like a chapbook, but pretty. I don't know if I could find a person to publish it or if I'd need to do it self-published, but it's a thing I tinker with from time to time.
