So, how did yesterday go for everyone? I was ahead at the end of the day, but now I'm behind again. Such is the nature of the beast. My last sentence for yesterday, which is before my last sentence from the night before, reads: He slipped inside the stairwell and nudged the brick out of the way so that the door closed tight behind him, then he placed the pizza boxes on the floor in the corner. So much to do about pizza around here. And I bet they never even properly eat it. Those are the saddest pizzas.

Your photo for the day seems to have lost its head, which is not a thing you should do so early in the month. Just take things one day at a time, kids. We're all bound to end up somewhere eventually.

But tell me, how was Day One?

I ended with just about 3600 words (one thing said 3603, one said 3608) around 4pm. I wanted more, but the internet started getting wildly screwy and wouldn't let me do anything which meant i couldn't run word wars which meant i couldn't produce words because that's how my brain works. Wah. But still, I'll take it. we'll see if i can keep the momentum.

That is an excellent momentum! I hope you can keep it up too. I know the chat room will help with that. Here's to me being able to visit it at some point.

Not that great.

I got about 900 words down. Hope to do better today

Any words are good words if they're toward the cause. I do hope your day went better as well, though.

I wrote! I was hoping it would be on the Barbara Gordon: Better Than You fic because tall buildings, but it ended up being joining up a few bits of another fic. BUT WORDS HAPPENED, which is the important part for me!

IT'S NEVER ON THE THINGS WE WANT IT TO BE ON. But words happening are the most important part. ♥

I'm doing 1500 a day even if I know where I'm going next since I think I can maintain the pace. >_> As for the writing... it's kinda vomitrocious. I'm infodumping all over the place.

That's a really good strategy, I think. I made myself stop at 10 tonight, even though I could have gone on. When I sit down to it tomorrow it will give me a clear place to go. Sometimes that's all you need, really.

And info dumping can be cleaned up. You oughta see the conversation I wrote last night about pizza and girls. Good lord. Useless.

You can't be "behind" for day 2 at 10:30 in the morning! You've got 13.5 hours left to catch up!

I actually am behind. I finished the day with about 1400 words, but half of those were written after midnight Wednesday night, and I counted what I wrote after midnight last night - so I'd have to write about 1800 today to be on track. Given that I have no idea what happens at this point, that seems unlikely. I might have to try jumping around and writing something that happens later, and connecting it all together another time. I've never tried that but it seems like a reasonable tactic. Alternately I could stop writing actual words and work on my outline, but I'm afraid of losing too much time doing that and getting so far behind I'd be totally screwed.

I didn't think I was going to write today! I woke up, called in sick, and then passed out. Then when I woke up AGAIN I went out to buy soup and run errands and stayed out until near 8. But something about Nano and knowing other people are doing it too forced me to sit down and write for an hour. So now I'm ahead again. We'll see how tomorrow fares in the wake of Hurricane Who.

I'm a fan of jumping around if I don't know what's happening. Sometimes a scene that happens later will kick start a memory of where you wanted to go before. I hope today ended up being productive for you.

I did pretty good. I wrote about 1000 words. I scrapped the first intro for the second, happier and fluffier one so I might make it through this after all.

That discussion on trust/hope/faith was very helpful.

Yes! Success! And I'm glad that conversation was helpful, even though I didn't know what I was talking about. I'm chalking that up to the other person who stepped in. <3

I'm not doing it this year. When I try to force myself to write I get upset :/
