Haha no, the vase thing is UTTERLY RIDICULOUS. And that's saying quite a bit for me.
WHAT? WHAT? HAVOC IS PERPLEXED BY THIS SUDDEN ADMISSION OF INTEREST.
I just love the idea that Edmund slums it quite a bit, in spite of his place, and treats the women right I mean. Like he gets on with them and talks with them and doesn't use them, because he knows that it's a stroke of accident that he was born rich and they weren't. I feel like losing his dad so young has given him perspective that the others don't have. And I just think it's interesting next to James who is so clearly trying to improve his station and is made uncomfortable by people of a lower class. Also I like the idea that William indulges him in these trips even though he knows it's beneath them, because he's so fond of Edmund. BASICALLY IT'S ALL KIND OF INCESTUOUS AND I LIKE IT THAT WAY, OKAY?
Excellent, William head canon it is. ♥
I can read it if you like. I know you'd said before you kind of wanted me to read it anyway? Or something. I'm running away from everything on Saturday, but I can do it Sunday if that's cool.
(I don't know if William would actually be JEALOUS of Amelia, since she doesn't really have anything he wants, but I can definitely see him being kind of vague and condescending in a way that SHE could read as jealousy, because he just doesn't feel like she deserves a place there. I mean, she does kind of strong arm Derek into letting her meet Jon, and she's probably just as tireless with Jon about the whole thing. And while Nate is the one she's come to know best--besides Derek--I imagine William gets Amelia detail more often than he'd like and he feels like it's beneath him.)
