Go back to day three!

Sunday started late, much later than I was intending to start it, anyway. I had good intentions of getting up at 7:30 and being in line for the Gareth David-Lloyd panel, and I did get up! But by the time I had done my hair and taken all the pics from the night before off my camera, I was falling asleep sitting up. So instead of going to the panel I went back to bed until ten. Though, because of that I went down to the Abney Park booth to buy a CD about 10:15, which was just the right time, because I got to meet Nathan and have a lovely conversation with him. He's very welcoming and friendly. Have I mentioned how I love that band?

After that bit of happiness I headed to the Stargate track room to sit in on a panel my Em was on about fan fiction and how to turn it in to a vehicle for original writing.

And then I snatched Em and [livejournal.com profile] green_grrl up and we braved the food court, because that's just what good con goers do. It's not a day unless you're watching ten people eat off a four person table. As luck would have it though, we ran into [livejournal.com profile] ninepointfivemm on the way! I'd been meaning to meet up with her, but time works in different ways at a con. Because of her though, she and [livejournal.com profile] barbed_whispers and I ended up ambushing a group of HP cosplayers.

Silly vampires, wizarding is for real boys.

Sunday was lazy and late, then. [livejournal.com profile] barbed_whispers and I caught the Hellblinki Sextet show on the concourse, and it was AWESOME. (I may use the word awesome too much, but it really, really is appropriate here.) They were actually a sextet this time, as they were joined by some friends: Nathaniel Johnstone from Abney Park, Davis Patterson from Ghost Project, and Tom Coyne of The Last Dance. Also joining them was their friend Sanjula Vamana, who was there to add a bit of carnival flair.

He offered to let the people in the front row drink from his face. I actually have very little compunction about drinking from someone's face, but I don't want to share straws with ten of my closest complete stranger friends.

In keeping with the theme of lazy Sundays, from there [livejournal.com profile] barbed_whispers and I dicked around and people watched until it was time for The Atlanta Radio Theater Company's performance. It wasn't the Cthulhu play I was promised, but it was still interesting. And then later that evening I went to hang out with [livejournal.com profile] count_to_seven, [livejournal.com profile] the_hawk and a few of their friends in the Torchwood crowd. Most of the pictures below are actually just creeper photos taken from the Atrium level of the Marriott. But hey, it even says it on the badges: What happens at Dragon*Con, ends up on the internet!

Originally, Lisa and I were going to be sparkle douches (read, Twilight vampires, because we think they're hilarious) for the Thriller dance. But then we decided not to go and didn't get glittered up. In the spirit of things we put in the teeth for a bit anyway, some of those cheap plastic deals you get at the party store. I hadn't worn anything like that in a while, but man are those uncomfortable.

A droog on the escalator.

Cheetara made my night guys. I might have squeaked. I, like I'm sure many of you did, used to wake up at 6 in the morning on school days to watch Thundercats when I was but a wee thing. They still make me happy.

The naked stormtroopers just tripped me out. And I Like the progression in this series of shots with the Yeti sneaking up on them all. I DIDN'T KNOW JOHN GREEN WAS GOING TO D*C.

Urahara and Orihime! See, the thing is, I like Bleach. I like it a lot. I haven't read it in over two years though. I haven't read Bleach in so long that the published English releases have caught up to where I was reading the scanlations. *sigh* One day I'm going to have more time.

This guy I love to pieces.

Right, I've never seen Samurai Jack, but I admit that that's pretty effing impressive. Apparently the guy's son was playing Jack so they were to scale. Adorable.

TEN. AND A DALEK. AND UNIT. There's nothing about these guys I don't love. I really need to know where I can find a blow up Dalek now.

This video is my FiveDotNerds vlog for this week. It's basically the con experience for those who couldn't come. I've mashed together some clips that weren't big enough to put on youtube on their own so what you'll get is Voltaire, Abney Park, William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy, more Abney Park, Tom Felton, James Marsters singing, the 19th century sing-a-long, the Atlanta radio theater company, and the Hellblinki Sextet.

After that my remaining time was mostly spent sleeping and packing and dealer rooming and driving the six and a half hours or so home. None of that is exciting. But thank you guys for rolling around in this joy with me. Only 359 or so days until I get to go back. Can it be next September now?
