I was wondering about that (I forgot to look it up *hides*) since Crowley in the english is a play off of 'Crawley', which is what he was as a snake. But in english it also has the added stigma of being attached to Alistair Crowley, which makes it much more interesting than Rampa, in my opinion. :p
